Welcome to NavPath. It's here that we roll up our sleeves to tackle some of healthcare's toughest puzzles: poor patient outcomes, low patient satisfaction, and dwindling nurse retention rates. The heart of the NavPath Framework leans into a complex care model known as nurse navigation. We believe that nurses are the solution to connecting the dots of complex care.

“In 20+ years in healthcare, I have seen first-hand the good, the bad, and the ugly of patient outcomes. If you work in healthcare, chances are you have as well.

I have worked in several specialties during my career. Combat and trauma care formed my foundational knowledge as a Navy Corpsman serving with the Marines. High-acuity NICU nursing allowed me to build skills and knowledge while serving a vulnerable population. High-risk maternity allowed me to take my education upstream in fetal development, and it was there that I honed the art of educating and empowering family units in a clinical setting. In each role, I saw patients fall through the cracks of healthcare complexity and it made me feel helpless.

Helplessness doesn't fit with my personality. Armed with experience and education, I developed and implemented a model of care called nurse navigation for OB patients in our practice, which was wildly successful.

After creating a care model where nurses had autonomy and resources to allow them to work to the full extent of their licensure, I knew I could never unsee the benefits of nurse navigation. There is a use case for nurse-led patient care in every functional area, and I have devoted my career to making it come to fruition.

I now formally offer The NavPathTM Framework, which serves as a blueprint for integrating a nurse-led care coordination model into any existing healthcare organization.
